HOW TO LOOK 50% LESS WACK! THE MALL GRAB, DONT DO IT!

We all know that pushing mongo or chicken is pretty much a no/no if you want to be accepted by the skateboarding community, even I have a cheeky go at pushing normally all though I think it is fair to say my skating aint winning any beauty contests.

We spend so long concentrating on looking good on the board that we forget about how we look off the board, this brings me to THE MALL GRAB.





You can't deny this looks wack, it makes you look like a novice or if you are older like me, it makes you look like you are carrying your kids deck for him/her. It just looks weak. We refer to the offenders as TRUCK TOUCHERS.



My suggestion is the grip tape out approach as this is better for your clothing as the grip tape eats clothes, ironically the mall grab is usually supported by TK Maxx No Fear/Airwalk jockys who pay about 20p for an outfit. The one advantage to THE MALL GRAB is it doesn't eat clothes.



I go for the grip tape in angled as the weighting seems better.



So anyway do what you want because skateboarding is fun, it's also fun not to have the shit ripped out of you.
Just for reference the hold I like to refer to as the THE CATALOGUE, does not look as cool as you think.

We all have that one friend who we never see and when they do turn up it's like they live with you. Dan Wood is one of those bastards, I keep on top of what Dan is up to because he is a really talented self taught photographer and still finds time to shred. Come on Dan it's not far from Bridgend and be fucked if I'm coming there for a night out haha!

Every now and then a clothing company comes along that I actually give a crap about; i met Josh from INDCSN (pronounced indecision) at Ghost Rock, a hardcore festival in Leads, I was high on free Monster but I liked him and since then I kept hearing about his company INDCSN CLOTHING and it was killing me I couldn't think what it was and why I gave a shit, then Ajay Brutality Will Prevails singer reminded me I was meant to get it in the shop and it all fell into place.

Half & Half, a nostalgic video by Jono

This is a video that has been a long time coming, a history of Welsh skateboarding for the best part, and the strange thing is, it's been done by an English dude. Thats how much Jono loves Wales and his friends. It helps that I think he might be the most likeable bastard I have ever met.

Featuring talent from the ages, Tomsk, Arwyn Davis and more recently some other Welsh talent, Dainton, Jake Collins, Pulley and many more, I love that it shows how many guys are still smashing it.

We showcased this along with the Bones Video and Kyles Coffee Video Promo, a veritable film festival.

I strongly suggest owning all of these, stay tuned as to when they are out.

More Than Life & Basement Short Tour Video

It's really funny how no one on the FSTL crew knew how popular James Mathews' band More Than Life is, it's nice how More Than Life is so connected with the FREESTYLE, I have come to consider James as a son and the rest of the band as nephews.
I really like this video, it has an excellent feel to it, looks like both bands smashed it.
